The customer mass-produces the copper tubing used in the heat exchangers of air conditioning equipment. The first step of that process is to cut copper ingots of roughly 300 to 400 mm in diameter at high speed.
The cutting machine they had been using had aged, and its reliability had become a major issue for round-the-clock production. To keep supplying in volume without stopping production, they needed equipment that offered not only high cutting speed but also the stability to withstand long periods of continuous running.
We proposed cutting equipment from LINSINGER, which also has a track record in cutting copper.
We set out the cutting sizes, output, cutting intervals and continuous-running conditions the customer required, and selected a specification able to cut copper ingots of roughly 300 to 400 mm diameter at high speed and with stability.
Rather than a straight replacement, we worked through the specification with the manufacturer so that the configuration would meet the capacity and reliability required for 24-hour production.
We began by taking a detailed account of the problems the customer had with their existing equipment and of their production requirements. We then set out the concrete production conditions — what copper material, at what size, in what quantity and at what intervals they wanted to cut — and shared these with LINSINGER.
After technical coordination with the manufacturer we settled on an equipment specification suited to the application. Once delivered, we continued to follow up until the machine was installed and running reliably.
This is a case where we stood between an overseas manufacturer and a domestic user and supported the whole path from setting out the requirements through specification and installation to start-up.
The new cutting equipment has made fast, stable volume production possible and has greatly improved production efficiency.
Moving to reliable equipment that can run 24-hour production has also made it possible to build a stable supply setup. With an arrangement in place that produces a steady volume on a continuous basis, supply capacity has increased, which in turn strengthens the production base that supports business and revenue growth.
